Dr. Isah Charles Saidu is an accomplished computer scientist and artificial intelligence researcher with a strong foundation in machine learning, software engineering, and applied AI. His expertise spans probabilistic deep learning, active learning, computer vision, natural language processing, and speech recognition. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science, with a research focus on active learning and deep neural networks for image processing. Dr. Saidu combines rigorous theoretical insight with practical implementation, leveraging programming languages such as Python, Java, and C++, along with leading ML frameworks like PyTorch and TensorFlow, to build scalable, data- driven systems. His work is widely published in high-impact journals and featured in international conferences. Currently, Dr. Saidu has been awarded a prestigious LORI Fellowship to lead the development of Vibration Map—a smartphone-based system that utilizes accelerometer and GPS data to assess road quality in real time. The project aims to deliver a scalable, low-cost solution for infrastructure monitoring by harnessing the power of mobile sensing and machine learning. Through this initiative, Dr. Saidu is advancing research at the intersection of AI and public infrastructure, demonstrating how intelligent systems can drive practical, data-driven solutions.
